A trip to Kanazawa, Ishikawa by helicopter ②
A trip to Kanazawa, Ishikawa by helicopter ②
Following the previous blog, I introduce "A trip to Kanazawa, Ishikawa by helicopter②". I introduce this plan as an example. We also offer other plans tailored to each individual, so please let us know what would you like to do in Japan. We will combine all the resources to create an original trip for you with our partner, KYOTOyui.
Here are the details of the trip to Kanazawa, Kanazawa.
-Transport-
Kyoto~Kanazawa, Ishikawa: Helicopter
After arrival in Kanazawa, Ishikawa: car hire.
It takes approximately one hour from Kyoto to Kanazawa, so even those with busy days can take a day trip and enjoy the time there.
The places I toured were as follows.
Omotenashi Dome in front of Kanazawa Station
Nagisa Driveway
Higashi Chaya Machi
Seafood restaurants
①One of the symbol spots in Kanazawa "Omotenashi Dome"
With the opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen, the Motenashi Dome became a new symbol of this Kanazawa city. Omotenashi Dome is frequently featured in various media outlets and attracts interest for its impact.
It has an elegant Japanese atmosphere in the sunshine during the daytime.
The lights are turned up at dusk to create a magical atmosphere, offering a completely different vibe.
②An 8 km stretch of drivable sandy beach, Chirihama Nagisa Driveway
Do you know the only sandy beach in Japan open to cars? The Chirihama Nagisa Driveway, a 40-minute drive from Kanazawa Station, is the only sandy beach in Japan where you can drive.
It is refreshing to run slowly along the 8 kilometres of sandy beach, enjoying the sea breeze, the scent, and the sound of the waves.
We stopped the car on the way and walked barefoot along the beach.People can enjoy their own way, whether they drive slowly while feeling the sea breeze or stop their car and quietly enjoy the sound of the waves. You can drive on the beach by motorbikes and bicycles.
When you visit in the summer, why not stop by the summer-only beach houses? You can relax by the beach while eating local seafood there.*Business hours are different depending on each store.
Sand art is also displayed on the beach from around August to November.
After the beach opening, it becomes even more exciting to see the large and small sand art, eat seafood, swim, sunbathe and drive along the coast, each of which can be enjoyed as much as you want.
The sunset over the sea and the red sun reflecting off the ocean are breathtaking.
③Higashi Chaya District
Higashi Chaya District is one of the three main teahouse districts in Kanazawa. The atmosphere is very similar to Kyoto. The old houses are lined with traditional teahouses, restaurants and select shops selling traditional handicrafts.Kimonos are very suitable for the traditional townscape, and many tourists stroll through the teahouse district in kimonos.
Higashi Chaya District is a precious townscape that conveys the wonderful teahouse culture of Japan to the present day.You can hear the sound of shamisen music from somewhere at dusk.
Then, as the sun sets, the lights start to come on, giving the town an even more atmospheric feel.
The back alleys are also home to hidden shops, and a leisurely walk is recommended for those in the mood for exploration.
④Gourmet (seafood, souvenirs)
Kanazawa is blessed with an abundance of seafood and is known as a treasure trove of various gourmet delicacies.
Why is Kanazawa so rich in gourmet food?
This is because the ocean currents facing Ishikawa Prefecture are tidal (where warm-water and cold-water currents collide), making it an area where many planktons and the organisms that come to feed on them are concentrated. And because the fishing grounds and ports are close by, fish are shipped in fresh so that you can eat fresh fish.
You can also enjoy a trip full of seafood, including sushi and kaisen-don (seafood bowl).
-Souvenirs-
Ishikawa-ya Honpo Kaichin.
Made from agar and sugar, the outside is crispy, and the inside is soft and jelly-like.
I was captivated by the new sensation and the cute appearance.
There are various shapes, such as a collection of aquariums and zoos, which are really cute. For more information, please click here.

-Summery-
Here is a summary of Kanazawa.
It's not the most accessible place to get to on a day trip, but it's such a wonderful and exciting place to visit by helicopter in one hour from the centre of Kyoto and Osaka.
We are keen to offer more people the chance to travel, especially using a special means of transport. Typically, the price per person for a helicopter costs 200,000 yen. For example, someone might say, "I'm going to pay that much for transport, so I'm not going to pay too much for hotels, meals, etc., at the destination." If that is the case, Kyoto Plus has been planning the trip with the help of Takumi Airlines and KYOTOYui, so that we can provide an excellent experience not only for the means of transportation but also for the destination.
And the cost of a helicopter charter is a third of the market price, and you can have a wonderful travel experience. We hope that you will make the most of your time and experience this worthwhile experience by helicopter.
