I tried Japanese Green Tea “KOSHUN”
I tried Japanese Green Tea “KOSHUN”
Hello everyone! It's getting cold in Japan, and it snowed in Osaka last week!
The other day, I had a chance to try Japanese green tea called "KOCHUN" from Shizuoka Prefecture. It is a high-quality Japanese tea made from a selection of rare and valuable tea leaves from Shizuoka and brewed with water. It was the first time I enjoyed Japanese green tea in a wine glass.
When I opened the bottle, I could smell the gentle aroma of Japanese tea, and when I drank the tea, it was thick and astringent. It had changed my perception of the taste of bottled tea, as I can now drink the same fragrant tea when I pour it from the bottle into a glass. I was also surprised that this tea is made without any additives such as vitamin C, which gives us its natural taste.
This tea is different from the tea I drank in Kyoto before and had a strong bitter taste. This "KOSHUN" has the unique taste of Shizuoka tea! It was interesting to see how different the taste depended on the climate and the producing area, just like wine. The taste was so strong that I tasted it like wine, little by little, and it was fun to enjoy the different flavours of tea from other regions :)
Our website "Kyoto Plus" is preparing to bring to you the tea produced by a Kyoto tea farmer who has been working with Mr Kondo from KyotoYui Co. We have tried many different teas, but this tea farmer's tea was beyond description. I will keep posting how the tea is made!
